Stay Strong, Stay Healthy will be offered via Zoom twice a week for eight weeks, January 11-March 3 from 9-10am. An orientation session will be offered on Wednesday, January 6 at 9am. Class cost is $50 (scholarships may be available; email me directly if you have questions). Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is a strength training class for older and inactive middle-aged adults. This is the introductory class. If you have taken Stay Strong, Stay Healthy previously and would have interest in learning about the advanced class, please email me directly for more information.
Walk With Easewill be offered via Zoom January 10-February 20. Participants will walk on their own (or with their family/social bubble) three times a week. We meet once a week for six weeks to share successes, challenges, and learn more tools to help be successful in starting or maintaining a regular walking routine. Participants will select one regular class time to attend, but have the option to go to another class if they are unable to make their regular time: Mondays, Noon-1pm or Tuesdays, Noon-1pm or Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm. An orientation session will be offered on Saturday, January 9 at 10am. No cost thanks to funding through the Missouri Arthritis and Osteoporosis Program.
Strength in Numbers will be offered via Zoom for 2021 monthly on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:30-6:30pm (first meeting is January 19, 2021). Community groups (book clubs, faith-based groups, exercise groups, civic organizations, groups of friends, groups of coworkers, etc.) will have one group leader who comes to the virtual monthly meeting to learn about topics related to health and wellness, including nutrition, physical activity, sleep health, stress management, and chronic conditions. The group leader will take the information learned and resources provided back to their group members as part of their regularly scheduled in-person or virtual meetings. Cost is $20 for the year per organization.

An “Explore Extension” four-week educational series will be offered via Zoom through the OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute as part of the Winter 2021 semester (Thursdays, January 14-February 4, 10-11:30am). Discussions will be held on four topics: “Public Health: For the Good of All”; “A Public Issue Forum: How Should We Rebuild Our Economy?”; “Overindulging in Media: Depression and Anxiety”; and “The Science of Learning”.
